| The Nunda or Mngwa ( that means "strange beast" or "the strange one") is a animal which sowed discord on the Tanzania coast (ancient Tanganika). The animal would look like a lion sized panther and would have cannibalistic habits. Present in the indigenous folklore since a long time, the Nunda is scientifically recognized by the british settlers ( as William Hichens) only since 1920/1930. The animal will be entitled to have room in the book "Mystery Cats of the World" by Shuker, as well as in "On the track of the Unknown Animals" by Bernard Heuvelmans and "African mystery beast" by Hichens. But since this period, "the strange" wasn't much talked about, it doesn't implies that it have disapeared. |
